I began teaching special education at Cary High School in 2002. I was in the Behavioral Support Program at CHS. I then moved to teach at the elementary school level at the Bridges Program, an alternative elementary school in Wake County. I taught there from 2004-2010, focusing on 4th and 5th graders with emotional and behavioral issues. I moved to Davis Drive Middle School to teach resource math. After a year and a half, I moved into the Behavioral Support Teacher (BST) position at Davis Drive. Beginning fall of 2013 I worked as the BST at Mills Park Middle School. The fall of 2015, I have moved into the role of Special Education Department Leader at Panther Creek High School. I am currently the Special Education Department Leader and teacher at Apex Friendship Middle School.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Vermont. www.uvm.edu
I earned a Master's Degree in Teaching Special Education from North Carolina Central University. www.nccu.edu
I achieved National Board Certification in Mild/Moderate Disabilities in 2009.
I am licensed to teach special education, K-12 and Behavioral and Emotional Disabilities K-12.
I am licensed to teach middle grades math, 6-9.
National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Nationally Certified & Accredited Interscholastic Coach.
18 years coaching experience at the Recreational, Middle School, High School, Elite Travel and Collegiate levels.
Sports coached, Football, Softball, Lacrosse, Ice Hockey.
Former Division I Athlete.
